A couple of things
1: Thats pound so multiply by two and thats about 14 billion dollars in 3 months
2: Thats profits
3: 25,000 people die each day from malnutrition

Environmentalists hope to see more recycling in Alabama
What's up with this?
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — It's not a flattering picture: Alabamians produce more than twice as much trash each day than the average American, and they recycle or reuse much less of their garbage than in other parts of the country.
That's the statistical assessment of state environmental officials who are joining others in the recycling movement in praising enactment of a new law designed in part to give more Alabamians access to trash recycling programs.
Currently only 81 of Alabama's 460 municipalities, or 17.6 percent, have some sort of recycling program — either curbside pickup or drop off — and only 8.3 percent of solid waste in Alabama is recycled, according to data from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. Nationally, 32.5 percent of solid waste was recycled in 2006, according to federal Environmental Protection Agency figures. read more here

DIY Bike Trailer Hitch Upgrade
From bikehacks
I’ve been disenchanted with our old generic bike trailer’s hitch. It’s a clamp-style hitch that’s a total PITA to get tight. I was ogling used Burley trailers when I started wondering whether I could hack my own Burley-style hitch onto my old generic trailer. more here

Drive your bike to work week
Well it is spring and as always it is drive your bike to work week. I have already spotted many "peops" with there trusty clean and shiny bikes strapped to their cars on the way to work. Makes me feel good to see all these bikes attached to their cars.
The next critical mass we should all drive around town in our cars with our bikes.
I also notice this one guy rides his bike a lot from the south side to here has anyone informed this guy that we are living in the 21st century! Get a bike rack man and commute your bike to work.
Monte Sano yesterday was full of trucks, suv's loaded with mountain bikes to take on the dangers of dirt and rock. Way to go guys you get it!!!

For many, Portland is a haven of green-friendly urban planning. It recently topped Popular Science‘s list of the Greenest Cities in the United States. A big part of that is bikes. Portland is widely considered the most bicycle-friendly city in North America, so much so that bikes are on display throughout the Portland airport. Worldwide, it’s seen as only second to Amsterdam. Ghent-Wevelgem
Wednesday is Ghent-Wevelgem From VeloNews:
Ghent-Wevelgem is one of Belgium's classic April races, held every year on the Wednesday between the bookending weekends of The Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix. The first race, held in 1934, was brutal, taking riders over rough cobblestone roads. It hasn't gotten any easier. more here at velonews
