cyclist from UAH killed
Sarah Chapman was killed this morning on Technology Drive. She was a really sweet girl and Honors student at UAH. We should have a Ride of Silence soon. An SUV hit her from behind and no charges are intended. The story doesn't add up to me though. And they didn't give the name of the driver. Read more here and here

Very Sad, We should all ride to the next city council meeting and speak up.
Yeah that would be a good group ride in addition to a Ride of Silence type one.
<--- angry about it. I really liked Sarah. I hope Davis and her family are coping well. Tyler is right, idiots on the al.com blog.
It looks like there is going to be a memorial thursday night at the old chapel on UAH's campus. Regretfully, it doesn't look like i will be able to be there, because I have GOT to spend some time with my family and get my head straight. If anyone can make it I would really like as many people as possible to go on bikes. I feel that this is what Sarah would have wanted as well. When I find out specifics I'll post
Well. I think we should definately group ride for this. Lets meet downtown @ 6:30pm tomorrow and make our way to the Old Chapel. Does 6:30 at the courthouse work with everyone? This whole thing is just too unreal for me. Someone let me know about the city council meeting because I think a REAL MASS of riders should be there, bikes in hand, and with something to say.
It might have to be a good bit earlier than that. I believe that the service starts at 6:30. So you guys would have to leave with plenty of time, depending on what the strengths of the riders are. I won't be able to make it, but I am having one of my roommates read a letter.
Also, mayoral candidate Tommy Battle is going to be having some kind of a picnic or something at the park across from my house this saturday. It's sherwood park off of old-madison pike. I live in a very pro-loretta neighborhood so he might run into some trouble, but i would really appreciate if some folks would pedal up there on my behalf and make sure he is serious about transportation reform.
I'm afraid I'm not able to make it earlier than 6:30. If anyone can meet up earlier, or just meet at Union Hall at 6:30, that would be good. I, however would still like to participate in some ride in Sarah's honor, preferably before next Critical Mass.
there is a ghost bike up at the conner of wynn and technology
I wanted to tell you all how beautiful it was to see so many arrive on their bikes at the memorial last night. I really cared so much for Sarah and believe that Davis is right, she would not have wanted you to stop riding. Blessings as you mourn, Prof. Kristin Scroggin
and thanks for sharing what you did about her in class and the poem
