it's a tad long, but i think it's really good. i like how he's just speaking as someone who's been commuting for years, not from some cycling manual or class...and i kind of love this guy. i wish we had a commuter cyclist on huntsville city council.

I agree it is much nicer to lead by example and common sense than being sold "safety" .

Way to go, city official! Yeah! Not bad for an old dude. I'm gonna go ahead and send him a reflective suit of armor to wear while he rides. Hell, I'll splurge for the type that blinks the appropriate colors so the geezer feels safe. Just goes to show, you can't beat pragmatism. Except with a large stick or a pipe bomb. JK, LOL, :-)
The truth is that I wish he was my father. This is really hard for me. Let's not bring this up anymore.
